Since Joining The AHPGA Golf School My Game Has Improved Dramatically

"Since joining the AHPGA Golf School my game has improved dramatically

Dramatic Improvement Following Golf Instruction At Gold Coast Golf School

Here's some background about how I came to be at the AHPGA.

Here is my story of how I came to become a student at the Australian High Performance Golf Academy.

My life long dream has been to become a Touring Golf Professional

I started chasing that dream when I was 9 years old, in Perth at the ****** Golf Club. By the time I was 17 and was playing off a scratch handicap, and represented the Western Australian Junior and Senior teams and made the Australian team when I was 18 years old.

During this time I had secured 6 course records around Australia and I was the leading amateur at the Australian Ladies Open at **** Golf Club in 200*.

I have always been looking at ways of improving my golf game

In 2004 I secured a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Melbourne. The AIS spent 12 months trying to get me to focus on hitting the ball longer and subsequently my game suffered and my scores began to deteriorate.

The AIS closed down on June 30, 2005 which left me in a situation where I had no coach and my game was inconsistent to say the least.

I moved to the Gold Coast whwere a good friend introduced me to Lawrie Montague, whom he highly regarded as an astute coach. Amazed at Lawrie's knowledge of the game, I was extremely excited to become a student of his AHPGA Golf Academy.

My enthusiasm for the game had been re-ignited again. I was aware that Lawrie had coached the Australian National Women's Team for a number of years, and guided many golfers to their professional careers.

Some of things really impressed me about the AHPHA golf school:

1)The Mental Classes with other like minded golfers.
This gave me a whole new perspective about golf and really showed me that if I can get my mind right on the course I can achieve anything.

2) How the AHPGA was able to make practice fun
I've always found it a chore and have not enjoyed it. Special games for each area of my game from my Driver down to my putter made me excited about getting out of bed in the morning and getting to the practice range and the hard work started to produce good results. I don't have to be a long hitter on the tour to be successful

I had not been picked for an Australian team recently even though I had qualified under the selection criteria, since the National Coach felt I was not hitting the ball long enough.

3) Lawrie showed me that I don't have to be a long hitter on the tour to be successful. He told that if I worked on my strengths the results will come.

Since joining the Academy my game has improved out of sight

I am now consistently shooting under par and have had some great results at my national amateur tournaments around Australia.

I know that under the guidance of Lawrie Montague and the Australian High Performance Golf Academy the sky is the limit for my career

I would recommend the AHPGA to anyone wanting to improve their game regardless of what their handicap is.

It really does produce "Lower Scores in Record Time"
