Hi, everyone I first met Lawrie Montague approx 6 months ago, having just resumed playing golf again, after a considerable absence from the game.
Prior to my break from golf I had played amateur golf at the highest level, having represented both Queensland and Australia for a number of years.
My intentions were clear in my mind, I wanted to turn pro and follow my dreams.
I began working with a couple of golf pros who recommended major changes to my golf game, I had an Achilles heel, for love nor money I just couldn't stop the ball diving left, the harder I tried to fight it the further left I hit the ball.
I was at the lowest golfing point of my life, I couldn't keep the ball on the planet, and my confidence level was at an all time low. To be totally honest I was at my wits end, seriously close to giving the game away and pursuing something else, it was official, I was a basket case.
I vividly remember our first lesson together, Lawrie was a straight shooter, told it how it was and how it had to be, nothing sugar coated or no smoking mirrors, exactly how I wanted it, I asked for it straight up and that's precisely what I got.
We put some short and long term goals in place and began fixing some minor faults in my game, the methods Lawrie teaches are so simple but hugely effective. We make small changes to important aspects of the game and we do it the simplest way possible by using Lawries training aids.
We focus heavily on the short game with wedges being our number one priority, ultimately improving the part of the golf game that matters most "THE SCORE".
I've attended many golf academies and golf programs throughout my amateur career.
